10th.THE LIONS OF NJOMBE
Our first story was a nightmare for Tanzanians and the story it self was documented by local media in 1932. On that year, a large group of Lions or pride hunted and killed thousands people in a town near Njombe Tanzania. It was more than lions hunting people. It was a Massacre by a Pride. more than 1,500 people (estimated 2000 people) lost their life. The attack was so coordinated and out of control. Local story said that a local tribe doctor named Matamula Mangera with his black magic spell controlled the pride to attack people as a revange after he was deposed from his post
The tragedy of Lions in Njombe was recorded as one of the worst animal attack in history. People was so freak out. most of them believed even mention them could probably invite the pride to reappear and rid their life. The real story itself was ended in the gun of George Rushby a non African hunter who killed 15 lions of the tribe before the rest of the lions abandoned the town.
